Dr Luca Farinelli MD PhD

Dr Luca Farinelli is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in knee surgery and sports medicine. He is mainly involved in ligament knee surgery (ACL, PCL, multiligamentous knee surgery, MPFL and patella dislocation) and follows with particular attention sports medicine and regenerative medicine (scaffold implantation, cartilage regeneration, infiltrative treatments). He currently works as Assistant Professor in Clinical Orthopaedics, Azienda Ospedaliera  Universitaria delle Marche, Ancona, Italy.  Dr Farinelli has more than 70 impacted publications on PubMed with over 600 citations, most of them original articles and systematic reviews focusing on knee surgery with numerous international collaborations. He completed two international fellowships in knee surgery at Gelenkpunkt – Sports and Joint Surgery, Innsbruck, Austria (2022), where he actively participated to surgical activity with Prof. Christian Fink and Prof Christian Hoser. Subsequently, He joined to AEA – SIAGASCOT knee fellowship at ICATME-DEXEUS Barcellona, Spain (2023) under supervision of Prof Juan Carlos Monllau and Prof Simone Perelli with particular focus on ACL, PCL, multiligament injuries, meniscus transplant and osteotomy. He performed over 150 knee arthroscopy per year.

Dr. Farinelli is a Peer Reviewer for some of the most impacted international journals of orthopedics as Journal of Experimental Orthopaedics (JEO), Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy (KSSTA), Orthopaedic Journal Sport Medicine (OJSM).

He is active member of ESSKA, SIAGASCOT (delegate), IORS (member of the board), Società Italiana di Ortopedia e Traumatologia (SIOT) and EFORT.
